    This 15-week certificate program trains graduates to become skilled bartenders working in the hospitality industry. The need for qualified bartenders in licensed establishments in the Ottawa region is constant. The industry is a demanding one, involving long hours and shift work. Candidates should be interested in serving people. The program consists of instruction in the principles and practices of sound bar management. The curriculum is divided evenly between theory and practical hands-on experience in the campus bar laboratory and in an established bar in the community. Students also complete the Smart Serve Server Training program, which enhances their job opportunities in the industry.
