A broad background in various subdisciplines of Kinesiology, including anatomy, physiology, neurophysiology, biomechanics, movement control and psychology of performance; 2. An exposure to several science disciplines which are prerequisite and/or complementary to the kinesiology subdisciplines (e.g., biology, physics, psychology, mathematics); 3. An introduction to the discipline of health promotion and an appreciation of the role kinesiology plays in health and well-being concerns of the individual; 4. An exposure to some aspects of the humanities and social sciences, as a means of enhancing the liberal education of the student and addressing social concerns in relation to health promotion; 5. A solid foundation in research methodology and statistics, including opportunities for independent research if the student should so choose; 6. An understanding of the principles and tools necessary to evaluate human movement from a variety of perspectives and in a variety of settings, as well as hands-on experience in several evaluative procedures; 7. Professional preparation in the areas of fitness and lifestyle; ergonomics; or coaching sciences; 8. Experiences in active and problem-based learning; 9.
