The number for childcare facilities continues to increase and so does the demand. Early childcare assistants as well as other early childcare educators have one of the lowest unemployment rates when compared to other technical programs in Canada. CDI College offers a 40-week intensive and comprehensive hands-on training program that prepares its students for the real world. Students will learn how to establish a safe and healthy learning environment, learn about child abuse and other issues, curriculum development, and more. Students will also learn how to work with families – parents, guardians, etc. – to gain a better understanding of the child's progress. Prior to graduation, students enrolled in CDI College’s Early Childcare Assistant diploma program are required to complete two practica in different settings where they will be observed and evaluated according to the NACC Early Childcare Assistant Handbooks.
