    COMP1310     Excel - Advanced
    Description: Recommended: COMP1100 Excel or equivalent knowledge. This course builds on the knowledge gained in the Excel course. Emphasis will be placed on organizing and consolidating data with efficient multi-sheet models; applying arrays and formulas to new and powerful uses; working in an OLE (Object-Linking and Embedding) environment; recording and editing macros; advanced charting; utilizing scenarios; pivot tables; and finding the best solution using Solver.

    COMP1320     Access - Advanced
    Description: Recommended: COMP1120 Access or equivalent knowledge; experience with database design would be an asset. This course is intended to further develop skills acquired in the Access course. Basic concepts will be reviewed and extended to teach you the techniques for setting up and maintaining database systems. With Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), students will develop a simple business application from the problem definition stage through to implementation.

    COMP1330     Word - Business Applications

    Description: Recommended: COMP1130 Word - Advanced or equivalent knowledge.
    This course is intended to further advance a student's knowledge in the approach and development of wordprocessing applications. Topics include: understanding and developing macros; transaction processing; user-specific forms; importing and exporting across multiple platforms; templates; and some development with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Course assignments will be based on business applications.

    Description: Recommended: COMP1310 Excel - Advanced or equivalent knowledge.
    This course is intended to advance a student's knowledge of how to approach and develop spreadsheet applications. Topics include: understanding and developing macros; transaction processing; user-specific forms; importing and exporting across operating system platforms; templates; and application development using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Course assignments will be based on business applications.

    COMP1610     Word 2007 - Advanced

    Description: Recommended: COMP1110 Word or equivalent knowledge.
    This advanced level course explores the mathematical capabilities of tables to create a variety of business documents including math formulas; sort information stored in tables, columns, paragraphs and data sources; perform an interactive merge; create automatically numbered outlines; document formatting using styles; generate tables of contents and indexes; get acquainted with Word's powerful macros feature; and look at the Word Art applet as it applies to business situations.
