Fitness and Health Promotion Ontario College Diploma

  • Objectives This four-semester diploma program is based on both academic and practical courses, which provide graduates with the knowledge, skills and experiences required for careers as health and fitness professionals. The curriculum is designed to provide students with both the theoretical and hands on experience required by a multidimensional fitness professional. Courses include anatomy and physiology, wellness, nutrition, fitness assessment, personal training, and marketing/entrepreneurship. These courses position the graduate for employment in this growing and challenging career.
  • Practical experience The program also includes practical learning in a fitness setting. Two field placement opportunities will provide the student with workplace experience supervised by a trained professional. Upon completion of this program, students will be eligible to participate in two nationally recognized professional certifications in group exercise instruction, and personal training.
