Diploma in Insurance Advisor

  • Course description This program provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge required to work in the insurance industry in a variety of different capacities, and may include careers within a call centre environment. It prepares students to write the provincial licensing examination.

    In addition, the program introduces students to different practices and positions within the industry. Students also gain skills and experience in using the most commonly used insurance database and quoting software in Canada.

    Admission Requirements
    Standard Admission

    Students must meet ONE of the following criteria:
    1. 1. Alberta High School Diploma, verified by transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent.

    OR
    1. 2. General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.).

    Mature Admission

    Students must meet ALL of the following criteria:
    1. 1. Out of school for two years.
    2. 2. Successful result on Academy of Learning entrance evaluation.
    3. 3. Thirty credits towards an Alberta High School Diploma, verified by transcript, with 50% or better in a Grade 10 English, or a non-Alberta equivalent.

    OR
    1. 1. Out of school for two years.
    2. 2. Successful result on the Academy of Learning entrance evaluation.
    3. 3. Successfully complete the CAST Level 3 with Alberta Grade 12 equivalency.
