    FLDP-6006 -  News Internship
    Designed to develop and enhance the student's preparation for employment with an opportunity to participate in a two-month internship within the television broadcast industry specifically in news-related departments. The course emphasizes professional communication skills, career research and preparation, in addition to the development of a portfolio and improved networking skills. Based on their completed Career Goals and Internship Objectives Application from the previous term, the student’s qualifications, performance and interests are reviewed. The student is then recommended by the program faculty to apply for a specific internship. Arrangements are completed in partnership with the internship sponsoring partner, the student and the supervising Professor.

    NEWS-6010 -  TV News Presentation 1
    An application of newscast and reporting, on camera presentation skills, live and taped broadcasts, voice overs etc, interviews in studio and the field.

    NEWS-6011 -  TV News Reporting 1
    The effective and ethical use of pictures and sound to tell stories for television newscast. Students will produce television news stories for Rogers Television as well as Fanshawe Television newscast using electronic news gathering and editing equipment.

    NEWS-6012 -  TV News Production 1
    The emphasis of this course is to advance the TV News post graduate student through intensive practical experience in television news gathering, news writing and news production as it relates to news production procedures and industry practices. Students will integrate the skills developed in their other TV News courses (news writing/reporting, presentation, Eng and editing) with various production elements to produce LIVE television news programming which will be broadcast and steamed daily on Fanshwe TV (Fanshawe's Television station within the M-building's broadcast centre). The LIVE television newscasts will provide the students with practical experience in the roles of news producer, news director, vidio jounalist and "On Air" news, weather, sports and intertainment anchors.

    NEWS-6014 -  TV News Presentation 2
    An application of newscast and reporting, on camera presentation skills, voice overs, in studio and the field. Students will produce news stories, newscasts, and interviews using field and studio facilities and study the various formats now in use in the industry.

    NEWS-6015 -  TV News Reporting 2
    Producing news and current affairs reports for television. Using electronic news gathering equipment and editing equipment to produce current affairs stories in the field for course assignments, for Rogers Television and Fanshawe TV.

    NEWS-6018 -  TV News Field Placement 1
    This course is designed to have the student actively become involved in a field placement within a television newsroom. Depending on the location and the students’ skill set, the student will participate in newsgathering, writing, reporting and television news productions for broadcast. The student must function effectively as part of the team when interacting with staff, crew, talent and other volunteers. They are also encouraged to use the experience to develop and enhance their personal professional development.

    NEWS-6020 -  TV News Production 2
    The emphasis of this course is to advance the student through intensive practical experience in television news and current affairs production. This course will concentrate on the industry practices required to produce News and Current Affairs programming out of Fanshawe's Television Broadcast Centre. Incorporating field reports, stories and documentary series, the students will concentrate on the production elements required as well as, field camera technical and production quality.

    NEWS-6021 -  TV News Editing
    This course will introduce Television Newsstudents to basic post production, and electronicnews gathering techniques (ENG).,- The primarycomponent is to acquaint the students withindustry editing procedures as well as cameraoperations. A secondary component includesexposure to basic graphics creation techniques forTV.

    NEWS-6022 -  TV News Videography
    This course will introduce Television Newsstudents to basic post production, emphasizingNon-Linear Editing for a news gatheringenvironment. The primary component is to acquaintthe student with industry editing concepts,procedures and styles. A secondary componentincludes exposure to basic graphics creationtechniques for TV. Through lectures and practicalbased sessions, students will learn broadcaststandards for post-production editing. Media andfile management will also be covered.
