Diploma in Payroll Administrator

  • Objectives Anyone planning to enter the payroll field must have good computer skills and be familiar with automated payroll systems.

    This program provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge required for a payroll department. The student will become familiar with basic payroll practices and procedures, as well as basic office and business skills.

    Graduates will meet the current criteria to write the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification (PCP) exam.
  • Course description Admission Requirements
    Standard Admission

    Students must meet ONE of the following criteria:
    1. 1. Alberta High School Diploma, verified by transcript, or non-Alberta equivalent.

    OR
    1. 2. General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.).

    Mature Admission

    Students must meet ALL of the following criteria:
    1. 1. Out of school for two years.
    2. 2. Successful result on the Academy of Learning entrance evaluation.
    3. 3. Fifty credits towards an Alberta High School Diploma, verified by transcript, with 50% or better in a Grade 10 English and a Grade 10 Mathematics, or non — Alberta equivalent.

    OR
    1. 1. Out of school for two years.
    2. 2. Successful result on the Academy of Learning entrance evaluation.
    3. 3. Successfully complete the CAST Level 3 with Alberta Grade 12 equivalency.
