Objectives
The Computer Systems Technology program gives you the foundational skills and knowledge you’ll need for all these professional careers in the world of computing! The Computer Systems Technician program is nine months long with classes starting in September. You’ll acquire expertise in software and hardware, programming, communications, information technology and systems support. In the Technology Diploma year, you’ll focus on providing computer solutions to specific real-world problems. The principles taught include problem definition, diagnosis, analyis, design, selection and implementation, decision-making and maintenance, and improvement of hardware and software solutions. You’ll learn how to be effective in a large enterprise, and self-sufficient in smaller enterprises. Through the Software Engineering Bridge program, you’ll be able to continue your education toward a Software Engineering degree at the University of Victoria.
