    CADD-1012 -  Introduction to AutoCAD

    This course will provide an introduction to the basic concepts of computer aided design and draftin while developing general computer skills such as file management and using the web.

    CHEM-1008 -  Chemistry

    This is an introductory course in chemistry. It will provide the basic language, definitions, and concepts necessary for the understanding of the theory, and the practical application of chemistry in advanced courses. Problem solving is included.

    COMP-1403 -  Computer Applications

    This course will provide the student with an introduction to software applications used in the workplace. The fundamentals of the Windows Vista operating system, Office 2007, utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and the Internet.

    DEVL-1001 -  Career Development
    This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of Technology programs. The major course activities will include a career planning process to enable students to choose appropriate technology training based on their abilities, aptitudes and interests. Students will explore various study/ learning skills and techniques and time management strategies.

    DEVL-1004 -  Career Development
    This course will provide the student with an opportunity to study selected concepts from Human Relations and Industrial Relations related to career and job satisfaction. It will try no only to give the student a better understanding of what to expect in the future program choice at “Fanshawe College” but also what to expect from their career choice in industry.

    ELNC-1098 -  Practical Electronics

    This course is an introduction to the basicprinciples of Electricity & Electronics concepts,as well as to facilitate entry into technologicalprograms which contain Electrical/Electronicsmaterial. Emphasis will be on practicalapplications of basic electronics.

    MATH-1003 -  Intro to Arithmetic & Metric System
    This is a basic course and deals with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers, fractions and decimals. In addition, the student will learn to solve practical problems involving percents, perimeters, areas, volumes, and metric.

    MATH-1004 -  Math - Qualifying (Business)
    This course provides students with the basic arithmetic and algebraic skills necessary for everyday life. It also provides the mathematical preparation necessary for successful achievement in further courses in business mathematics and in those business program courses where mathematics is applied. Also, to foster good study habits and the ability to work independently.

    MATH-1005 -  Qualifying Mathematics (Technician)
    To provide students with the basic arithmetic skills required in everyday life. To provide skills and understanding of fundamental algebra and trigonometry needed for further courses or in those programs where mathematics is applied. Also, to foster good study habits and the ability to work independently.

    MATH-1006 -  Qualifying Mathematics (Techn'y-Advan)

    The course is a preparatory mathematics course. It provides the skills and understanding of algebra, geometry and trigonometry needed for the subsequent courses. It also provides the mathematics needed for programs where Grade 12 College Apprenticeship mathematics is required for entrance to the program.

    MATH-1007 -  Qualifying Mathematics (Technology)
    To provide basic skills and understanding of fundamental terminology needed for further courses or for work in technology mathematics and in those program courses where mathematics is applied. Also to foster good study habits and the ability to work independently.

    MATH-1008 -  Mathematics-Basic
    To provide students with the basic arithmetic skills required in everyday life. To provide skills and understanding of fundamental algebra needed for further courses or in those programs where mathematics is applied. Also to foster good study habits and the ability to work independently.

    MATH-1009 -  Mathematics

    This course is an introductory mathematics course covering real numbers, algebra, and geometry.

    MATH-1013 -  Mathematics

    This course is a preparatory mathematics course. It is designed to build the skills and understanding of fundamental mathematics and introductory algebra needed for the subsequent course, Math-1006. It also provides the background mathematics needed for programs where mathematics is applied.

    MATH-1021 -  Mathematics for Electronics
    This course introduces the fundamental concepts of mathematics (Algebra, Trigonometry and Complex Numbers) required to understand the theory of electricity and electronics.

    MATH-1023 -  Mathematics

    This course introduces the students to solving technical problems at a post-secondary level using the mathematical tools of measured data, fundamental algebra, trigonometric functions, radian measure, plane geometry and the solution of right-angled and oblique triangles.

    MATH-1038 -  Intermediate Qualifying Mathematics
    An intermediate algebra course which builds on the algebraic and trigonometric concepts covered in Math 006.

    MATH-1056 -  Math 2

    This course covers trigonometric functions, right and oblique triangle applications, vectors, graphs of trigonometric functions, radians and applications of radian measure, polar co-ordinates and related applications, exponential and logarithmic equations and related applications, and basic Analytic Geometry.

    MATH-1153 -  Math 1

    As the first mathematics course for technology students, the content covered includes treatment of data, fundamental algebra, logarithmic and exponential functions, trigonometry, and geometry.

    MATH-1158 -  Mathematics 1

    A practical mathematics application course on topics relevant to mechanical techniques (CNC).

    MATH-1160 -  Math I

    As the first mathematics course for technician students, the content covered includes fundamental algebra, trigonometry, geometry and the j operator, exponents, radicalsand logarithms.

    MATH-1161 -  Math I

    As the first mathematics course for technology students, the content covered includes fundamental algebra, systems of linear equations, trigonometry, geometry and the j operator, exponents, radicals and logarithms. Applications involving problems taken from electrical/electronics technology will be covered where feasible.

    MATH-1162 -  Applied Mathematics

    This course will provide students with the necessary mathematical knowledge and skills required to understand, interpret and find solutions for analytical problems in the motive power industry.

    METH-1003 -  Technology in Industry

    Significant manufacturing processes-both conventional and new are studied in this course; foundry processes, hard mould casting, powder metallurgy, primary and secondary metalworking processes. Polymeric and Composite materials are also studied. It is intended to give an overview of manufacturing methods and explain the behaviour of materials and the mechanisms involved in their fabrication.

    MOTP-1009 -  Power Applications Technology

    This course is designed to introduce students to the various sources of power and the means available to apply the power to the processes required. As well, students will learn to solve problems related to power development and power converting systems.

    PHYS-1011 -  Physics

    This course provides an introduction to problem solving techniques and concepts fundamental to technical physics.

    WRIT-1039 -  Reason & Writing 1-Technology
    This course will introduce technology students to essential principles of reading, writing, and reasoning at the postsecondary level. Students will identify, summarize, analyze, and evaluate multiple short readings and write persuasive response essays to develop their vocabulary, comprehension, grammar, and critical thinking. This course will also introduce students to selected issues and terms in technology.
