Certificate/Diploma in General Arts and Science - Pre-Music Production

  • Objectives This one-year introductory Pre-Music Production certificate program is designed for students with little or no music experience who have an interest in the music industry as a whole. Students are provided with the opportunity to gain knowledge of the music industry before investing in a diploma or degree. Students receive an introduction to recording, marketing, production, Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI), and mixing. This program is useful for individuals who want to experience college delivery of course material, who want a starting point to pursue a career in music, or who are looking to build a music portfolio for entrance into a diploma or degree program. One-Year Certificate Program On successful completion of two semesters (September-April), students will be eligible to graduate and receive Ontario College Certificate. Graduates may apply to another program at the College or may continue their studies in the second year of the General Arts and Science program. Some credits acquired during the one year certificate program may be considered as transfer credits towards other college programs.
