Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computational Chemistry

  • Objectives Carleton's Department of Chemistry introduced Computational Chemistry-the first undergraduate program in Canada that combines the fields of computer science and chemistry. Our Computational Chemistry program reflects the growing need for specialists in this emerging field, as modern pharmaceutical research increasingly involves the extensive use of computer-controlled molecular modeling in its design.
  • Practical experience At Carleton, we believe you should gain real research experience as soon as possible. That is why, in addition to your regular course work, we provide you with a number of valuable hands-on opportunities to assist faculty members with research and teaching. Summer research scholarships are available after each undergraduate year and, faculty members regularly hire undergraduate students as summer research assistants. As a senior undergraduate student, you may also obtain a paid position as a laboratory demonstrator and marker to assist faculty, technical staff, and graduate students in the operation of first- and second-year labs.
