For the past three consecutive years, Conestoga has led the way in Ontario for graduate employment success.
College Profile / Stats
From our humble early beginnings as a community college in 1967, Conestoga has risen to become one of Canada's premier polytechnic institutes. We offer advanced applied education, and research leading to the commercialization of innovation in southwestern Ontario. For nine of the last ten years independent research has named Conestoga as the number one publicly funded college in Ontario!
Our largest campus (Doon) in Kitchener is located right next to highway 401 on 138 acres of land and offers a full range of programming. Our Waterloo campus is a centre of excellence for skilled trades and culinary. Our Guelph campus has emerged as a provincial leader in motive power trades. We also have smaller campuses in Stratford and Cambridge offering academic upgrading and career focused programs.
Conestoga, established in 1967, has been the number one rated College in Ontario for nine of the last ten years.
Our graduate job placement rate is an amazing 93.4% six months after graduation.
Conestoga is an outstanding polytechnical institute and a founding member of Polytechnics Canada
Full-time Students: 7,500
Part-time Students: 38,000
40% of all adults in Waterloo Region have taken at least one course at Conestoga.
Our graduates annually pump $1.4 billion into the local economy.
We offer 102 full-time programs, 27 apprenticeship related programs, 5 applied degrees, 4 collaborative degrees, 29 post-graduate certificates and 96 part-time programs.
Conestoga has five campuses: Doon (Kitchener), Waterloo, Guelph, Stratford and Cambridge.
Conestoga’s loan default rate is the lowest in the province at 7.4%. We attribute this, at least partially, to the fact so many of our students get excellent jobs after graduation! Last year Conestoga handed out $16.8 million in student loans.
College President, Dr. John Tibbits, joined Conestoga in 1987.
The Doon campus features a beautiful forest in the middle of the campus.
